Anne-Marie Chidzero is internationally known professional in financial and private sector development with 25 years’ experience working with Development Finance Institutions, Consulting Firms and Private Equity Funds, managing investment and development finance projects in 32 African Anglo, Franco and Luso-phone countries.
She is Principal Partner, Alitheia Identify Managers, raising a USD100million Pan African private equity fund, anchored by the African Development Bank, to invest in growth small and medium enterprises applying a gender lens investment strategy to achieve high returns and economic impact. Anne-Marie is also Advisor to FSDMoç, the Financial Sector Deepening-Mozambique (FSDMoç) fund, financed by the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID). A fund she established in 2014 and led as CEO.
In recent years she managed a USD42 million fund, AfriCap Microfinance Investment Company, and is now concluding the last exits, returning capital to shareholders.
As a leader in enterprise finance, she sits on the Boards of the USD270m Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) of the Alliance for the Greening Revolution in Africa(AGRA), Financial Sector Development Fund Africa (FSDA), Untu Microfinance Bank Zimbabwe, and Socremo Microfinane Bank Mozambique. She is founding member of a Pan African network of Women in Finance, NFNV, and sits on the Advisory Board of Women’s World Banking,
Anne-Marie holds a BSc Psychology, McGill University, Montreal and MA Economics, University of Toronto, Canada.
